Campus Piggyback Protocol (CPP)

A zero-emission peer micro-transit standard leveraging existing student commuter routes to deliver urgent academic supplies with cryptographic verification.

Core Principle & Problem Statement

Commercial courier services charge ₹80–₹150 and require 24–48 hours to transport books or drafting instruments across campus zones. Meanwhile, hundreds of college students travel daily along identical road corridors with empty bags and pillion capacity.

Authorized Category Whitelist Matrix

To guarantee zero liability and student safety, CPP only permits non-hazardous academic essentials:

Engineering Drafter & Drawing Sheet

Max 1.5 kg

Mini-drafters, T-squares, drafting clipboards, and cylindrical sheet containers.

Academic Textbooks & References

Max 2.0 kg

Semester reference books, university syllabus texts, GATE and competitive exam manuals.

Scientific Calculator & Peripherals

Max 0.8 kg

Approved FX-991 series calculators, drawing compass sets, geometric instruments.

Handwritten Class Notes & PYQ Banks

Max 1.0 kg

Spiral-bound notes, lab manuals, university previous year question solutions.

Laboratory Apron & Workshop Coats

Max 0.5 kg

Chemistry white aprons, mechanical workshop dungarees, safety goggles.

Strictly Prohibited Goods

Electronics exceeding 2 kg, laptops, smartphones, unsealed liquids, food items, cash, exam answer scripts, and commercial merchandise are strictly rejected by the protocol. Any attempt to carry unauthorized items results in instant suspension of college SSO credentials.

3

Spatial Corridor Matching & Route Deviation (RDI)

Unlike commercial delivery drivers who make arbitrary trips, CPP matches requests strictly to students already traveling along a verified commuter corridor.

Route Deviation Index (RDI) Constraint

RDI = (Detour Route Distance - Direct Route Distance) / Direct Route Distance ≤ 0.15

A student commuter is only prompted if the pickup and drop-off points add less than 15% deviation to their normal college journey. This keeps trips safe, punctual, and non-commercial.

4

Dual-Party Cryptographic Handshake

To eliminate delivery disputes and parcel theft, CPP implements a two-stage cryptographic handshake with dynamic 6-digit one-time PINs and HMAC-SHA256 tokens:

Phase 1: Pickup Handshake

The sender presents a 6-digit Pickup PIN or QR code to the commuter. The commuter enters or scans it to transition the status from accepted to in_transit.

Phase 2: Delivery Handshake

Upon arriving at the destination campus, the recipient inspects the item and provides their dynamic Delivery PIN. Verification automatically completes the record and logs the carbon savings.

5

15-Minute Timeout & Campus Fallback Engine

No Student Left Stranded

Automated transition to campus library and peer barter listings

If no commuter along the corridor accepts a parcel request within 15 minutes, the system does not leave the student waiting. It automatically notifies the requester and queries the local campus exchange database to display matching items available for immediate borrowing or exchange on campus.

6

Motor Vehicles Act & Non-Commercial Compliance

Section 66 & Section 67 Legal Compliance

CPP is strictly non-commercial. Suggested contributions cover only the actual shared fuel expenditure of the journey calculated from ARAI engine displacement specs (e.g. 100cc–150cc motorcycles with 45–60 km/l mileage). BatchLoop charges zero transaction commissions.
